Waitaki Art Trail: Photo Gallery

Art Trails are an opportunity for people to visit local artists as they open their studios to the public, usually over a weekend. Here in the Waitaki, we have an art trail twice yearly and last weekend I got to participate in my first one.

My home studio is the spare bedroom upstairs, so it’s not really ideal for opening to the public. Fortunately, my artist friend Alicia Hall’s new Community Art Hub was ready for the big day and I set up a space there. There were three of us with very different work: Leanne Breet with a bridal gown exhibit, Alicia Hall with her fibres and textiles, and myself with painting and photography. It was wonderful to have local community support with a number of visitors, very positive feedback, and some lovely arty conversations.
