Dwindle River Studio is the home of Zenobia Southcombe, a multi-disciplinary artist with a focus on painting and photography. The studio is named after the local Waihemo River, which is translated as “the dwindle river”.
Her photography explores the unique wildlife and stunning landscapes of coastal Otago. Zenobia’s painting is also inspired by the natural world, infused with her own meditative mark-making, and she often paints plein air in her sprawling rural garden,
Her work has been exhibited in a number of solo and group shows including ArtWeek Auckland, Pūmanawa Christchurch, Dunedin Festival of Photography, and the Photographic Society of NZ National Exhibition. Her images have featured in a range of print and web publications.
Zenobia has also published a range of children’s and non-fiction books exploring art, nature, and imagination.
